On October 5, we found out that I'm pregnant; my due date was estimated to June 4. We were elated and surprised that we were able to conceive a child. Since then we (Anne in particular) have eagerly been reading up on pregnancy and birth and all the stages of our growing little baby. This site (
babycenter) talks about what's going on with the baby and the mother, week by week. Now at 14 weeks, the baby has developed from zygote via embryo to a fetus at about 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and weighing approx. 1 1/2 ounces. I am hopeful that the second trimester will bring some relief from the fatigue, nausea, and headaches I've been bothered by so far but I realize some women struggle with these symptoms throughout their pregnancy. Reading about all the things that are going on in the body, it is not surprising that there are certain side effects.
